Welcome to the transformative (Al-Hilla Sewage Project), a groundbreaking initiative led by our Joint Venture consortium, comprising of five companies committed to shaping a sustainable future.
Located in the picturesque Babel Governorate of the Republic of Iraq, this project aims to revolutionize rainwater and wastewater management, covering an extensive area with street gullies, collection systems, and over 350 km of piping networks of varying diameters.
Our vision is to enhance the region's environmental resilience by efficiently channelling rainwater to Al-Hilla River and wastewater to the existing treatment plant, ensuring the preservation of local ecosystems and the welfare of surrounding communities. With ten main stations and five secondary lifting stations equipped with advanced submersible pumps, we ensure seamless and efficient transmission of water resources.
In adherence to the IFC Performance Standards, we have commissioned a specialized UK-based environmental consultant (EAME), to conduct the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA).
Our collaborative efforts with the UKEF (United Kingdom Export Finance) have empowered us to deliver exceptional results by leveraging financial support and expertise, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to sustainable development.
As the heart of the project, GCITJ, our Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) efficiently coordinates the roles and responsibilities of our consortium members, ensuring seamless communication, streamlined budgeting, staffing, on-site organization, and consistent, high-quality workmanship throughout the project's lifecycle.
We are committed to make a lasting positive impact, creating a cleaner, greener, and more prosperous future for Al-Hilla community and beyond. Together, we build a legacy of progress, resilience, and harmony with nature.
The proposed development of Al-Hilla Sewage Project has been subjected to an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) to determine the baseline environmental and social conditions.
